Survival is an idea often thrown around and talked about. When someone is actually in a life or death scenario, all rules are information a person knows about wilderness survival. I witnessed this during our story time. In our story time, we imagined that we were in a plane crash and stranded on an island. At first, we had some good ideas, but eventually, it turned to chaos, and we were in a classroom.     How do humans respond when thrown off? Does . Otherwise always turn to panic? I think that in a situation that one is not prepared for, humans usually turn to fear and chaos. To break this cycle, everyone in the scenario must calm down and think rationally. When this is done things can be accomplished, otherwise, people will turn to chaos.

Human Nature

What is human nature? Are humans fundamentally bad or good? These two questions are common questions in the back of one's conscious. Human life is the general psychological characteristics, feelings, and behavior traits of humankind, regarded as shared by all humans. Human nature is often confused with behavior. At the root of everything, humans are fundamentally flawed.                                Humans are imperfect because they are neither good nor bad. Humans are not fundamentally moral because even the best of mankind are still tempted by their own wants. This temptation means that underneath everything, humans are not purely functional. On the other hand, one can not go as far to condemn all of the humanity as truly bad. Just because a small percentage of humanity is purely bad, does not mean that all humans are bad, one can not condemn the many for the crimes of the few. Since human nature is neither good not bad, humans are fundamentally flawed.

For fall break I just stayed at home. While yes it does seem boring, I got some much-needed rest. Rest is something that renews the body, and it is when one does not do anything. Rest is also able to re-strengthen someone so that they could come back stronger. All in all, rest is an essential part of life.       Although rest is intended to help a person, it can also be a bad thing. Rest, while it is excellent can be mixed up as lazy. For a healthy rest, one must make sure not to rest for too long. If you relax too long, then you can become sluggish. I am glad that I am finally able to relax because I know that I will be better prepared for school and life when it is over.
A&P is a short story about a boy named Sammy, who workes at a grocery store and is trying to empress some girls that shop there. The story can take the readers mind off of distractions by making one to the 80's. A&P shows the differences of class between Sammy and the girls. This difference is displayed when the girls think that they can behave in an unacceptable way, walking into a store in a bathing suit, and still be served. A&P also shows that one must keep their word. This is confirmed when Sammy says that he is going to quit.      A&P, while not only showing different character traits, raises questions. One could ask if different classes should be treated differently. Also, one could ask what the true meaning of honor is. Lastly, it asks how wealth determines everything. Basically, A&P is a story that demonstrates many types of people and how they each is respected differently.

There I sat. Captivated. Staring.Wondering. The man. He stood, now an old and crippled, but he still seemed to be young as he gathered all of the kids in the library for story time. He spoke of an astronaut flying through space. He described the astronaut floating in the ship.            Once arriving at the nearest space station, he boarded. That astronaut had the simple but yet the best job on the planet, to fly from space station to space station and make sure that everything was in order and running smoothly. At a space  station by the name of Salyut, the astronaut found a leak in the gas tube, if not fixed could blow Salyut to the ground.           A hour later the astronaut and his partner, Bart, assembled the correct tools for the job. Soon they were tirelessly working on repairing the leak. It was to late. The thick tubes popped one after the other. The astronaut told his partner to plot the escape pod's coordinates while he directed Salyut away from earth. The
Harrison Bergeron is  a story about equality, what perfect equality is, and if equality is good. Harrison Bergeron makes one rethink the past ideas about equality. When I first read this story, I thought that it would be an average story about the future where there if peace and everything is perfect, but Harrison Bergeron demonstrates the not so perfect version of the words peace and equality. This alone make the story captivating.           The way that Harrison Bergeron depicts the future makes much more believable. Also, this story had a climax that kept the readers on the edge of their seat because, of the tension in the rebellion. Lastly, the way that Harrison Bergeron's author resolves the climax is to abtupt in my opinion because, it leaves the reader hanging.           After reading this story I felt that the goal of the story was to make readers contemplate their morels instead of thinking about the story itself. Overall, Harrison Bergeron is a great  story t
