     Another aspect that Dante's Inferno helps clarify is what the ancient Greeks and Romans thought of the afterlife. Since brave warriors, such as Aeneas, were on the highest level of hell, it made many Greeks and Romans join the military. Lastly, it helps historians discover more about these ancient people's culture.
